6 Easy Crafts and Activities

When you’re stuck inside!


Whether it be due to rain, COVID, or something else, sometimes we get stuck inside and would like to find something to do with our kids that doesn’t include YouTube or video games. Well, check out a few of my favorite crafts or activities to enjoy indoors!




1. Puffy Paint


Supplies Needed:

  • 1 cup of flour

  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon of iodized or table salt

  • ¾ cup of water (Add more if needed to get a paint-like consistency)

  • Food Coloring of your choice

  • 4 Resealable sandwich bags


Prep-time: 15 mins

Makes up to 4 bags of paint


Paint with these ingredients, and microwave your final painting for 30-45 seconds to create this fun and creative Puffy Paint.

2. Laser Maze


Supplies Needed:

  • 2 - 5 rolls of crepe paper (streamers)

  • 1 roll of masking tape

  • Scissors (optional)


Prep-time: 15 mins


Challenge your kids by creating a laser maze using crepe paper! Can they get through without breaking one? Great! Now try it without even TOUCHING one!


And of course, it’s always fun tearing it down when you’re finished!

3. Makeshift Drum Set & Kazoo


Supplies Needed:

  • Empty Cans

  • Balloons

  • Scissors

  • Safety Can Opener

  • Rubber bands

  • Popsicle sticks

  • Toothpicks


Prep-time: 20-25 mins


Throw together some items from around the house to make your own band! Change up the can and balloon sizes to create different sounds and rock on!

4. Physical Activity Cube


Supplies Needed:

  • Card Stock

  • Scissors

  • Tape

  • Stuffing for cube (old newspaper or gist tissue)


Prep-time: 15-20 mins


Throw together some items from around the house to make your own band! Change up the can and balloon sizes to create different sounds and rock on!

5. Eye-Bombing


Supplies Needed:

  • Googly eyes (Here’s 1,000 of them for less than $6)


Place them on anything around the house to bring them to life!


Who can make the funniest face?!





6. 100 Cup Challenge


Supplies Needed:

  • 100 Disposable cups


It’s amazing how 100 plastic cups can provide hours of entertainment.


Who can build the tallest, or maybe the fastest? Even better, how many different ways can you knock them down?!
