Healthier Kids Mentally & Physically
We nurture the mental and physical health of children & families by cultivating the healing value of unstructured play in our community.
To design, create, and sustain a model for unstructured play that serves our community and can expand to others.
Less screen time and more creativity through messy and outdoor play;
More personal connection through face-to-face communication;
Discovery of the world around you through play, observation, experimentation, travel, and hands on activity;
Building community to encourage neighborhood play and safety;
The arts: music, theater, art, dance;
Daily unstructured, outside physical activity;
Genuine competition with winners and losers;
Healthy risk-taking during play at home, school, and in public.
"Creating opportunities for children, families, and the community to grow and heal through play"
The Playful Child Foundation was created in 2018 to honor the playful and joyful spirit of Kade Damian.
Our first major project is the creation, design, and building of a children's memorial park and playground in Georgetown, TX that will honor all children who now live on in our hearts and memories.
The Healing Hearts Park will be a place for everyone to heal through play. We all carry experiences that can be softened through play, friendship, laughter, fresh air, and movement.
The Healing Hearts Park will be located at 1306 Country Club Drive.
Since receiving our official 501c3 non-profit status in December 2018, The Playful Child Foundation has met all deadlines to achieve our goal of breaking ground on the park within 3-5 years. $50K has been raised so far. The next step in the planning process is to complete construction plans. This phase is estimated to cost $150K. Your donation makes this project possible!
July, 2019- Georgetown City Council approved 6 acres along the San Gabriel River Trail as the future site for the memorial park
December 20, 2019- the park design committee completes and approves the conceptual design
An estimated 1 million dollars is needed to complete the project.
